CBS are releasing their lists of top ten players in each position every second day, so I'll release mine the day before.

These are my PG rankings, in two days I will put out the big one, The Top 100 NBA Players as of Right Now According to North Harbour. I could easily post the top 200, but that wouldn't be as limited.

PG Rankings

1. Chris Paul - ROY and almost MVP. Didn't deserve MVP last year so he didn't get it. If one thing is to be sure, he will get at least one, if not two MVPs before his career is over.
2. Deron Williams - He and CP3 should have a fantastic rivalry, I'm looking forward to a Hornets-Jazz rivalry.
3. Steve Nash - Seeing reduced minutes, still good though.
4. Tony Parker - Offensive powerhouse, his defense is also better than it seems at first glance.
5. Baron Davis - I feel if he was put in the right system he could be the #1 PG. Will the Clippers be that system? Ahhhhh.......Nah. Hopefully B-Diddy won't decline, like everything else that has gone to the Clippers.
6. Chauncey Billups - Great PG, may get spelled more by the younger Stuckey in future, and who knows what will happen under a new coach. But he is still all-star quality. According to this list he is the #1 Eastern Conference PG.
7. Gilbert Arenas - The NBA Board doesn't seem to like him, minaly because of his arrogance and how the Wizarrds did just as good without him. His arrogance doesn't worry me, I think Larry Bird was fairly "self-confident". But his injuries are holding him back. He's sorta like old Kobe, he puts up the numbers but it doesn't really help the team. Hopefully he will follow a similiar path to Kobe's. He certainly has MVP talent in my book.
8. Jose Calderon - I'm not a huge fan of the guy, but I can't doubt his talent.
9. Kirk Hinrich - Didn't has the best season last year and a rookie was drafted in his position, but he is still a great PG. He may fall way down in all lists after this season though.
10. Jason Kidd - He may be getting older, but he is still a player that you can rely on....most of the time.

Honourable Mentions

11. Andre Miller - For me there is a definite gap between the top 10 and the others, but Miller was a key part of the Sixers, especially when Iguodala failed to report in the playoffs.
12. Rafer Alston -Inspirational to the Rockets.

I would list more, but I feel they are so far off the top 10 if wouldn't be right.

Their list of centers that came out was horrible, they had Greg Oden in at number 8 and Shaq in there and Jermaine O'Neal -- Those guys are good, but you can't have all three in your top ten, the NBA does have more depth in the cetner position, believe it or not.

Their PF rankings were better, but they had Amare over Garnett and they included Al Jefferson and Josh Smith (who play other positions for their respective clubs) only to not put them in the top ten. They couldn't find room for Luis Scola in their top 20, yet Ben Wallace got in there, among others - including Michael Beasley, who hasn't played a minute of NBA Basketball yet.

Their SF rankings were the best yet. Still they had Maggette and Jefferson in the top 5 or so. They mentioned Yi but no Al Thornton, and if they are not going to include Rudy Gay, they better do that in the SG rankings. I included Gay in my SF rankings, so you won't see him here.

SG Rankings

1. Kobe Bryant - MVP, best player out there right now. Unless you dislike the Lakers of course...
2. Dwyane Wade - He was injured a lot for the past year, but I think it is consensus that when he is healthy he is the 2nd best SG in the league and can challenge Kobe for #1. He's been injured too much to be #1 right now though.
3. Manu Ginobili - I find it hard to put him this high, but I think his play has warranted it. He has been really effective off the bench last season.
4. Ray Allen - His numbers slipped, but all the Big 3's numbers did. He played outstanding in the finals and is still a great player.
5. Brandon Roy - I think this season we should see Roy come into #3 or #4. He has shown the potential to be a superstar for years to come. He leads Portland well and hopefully they get into the playoffs so we can see how he performs there.
6. Allen Iverson - He isn't the gamebreaker he used to be, night in, night out. But still has explosive offensive power and can change the game every now and then. That's enough for my #6 spot.
7. Tracy McGrady - Great player, just can't seal the deal come playoff time. I feel he should be higher, but if you can't win in the playoffs, that is big for me - It's not like he has never had the squad to do it.
8. Joe Johnson - Great leader for the Hawks, great player as well.
9. Michael Redd - Redd is a great spot shooter. He lacks the overall game for me to put him above any of the above players.
10. Kevin Durant - He showed the potential to be the face of the league and MVP one day. But according to his play right now and not his huge potential, I will put him here. If he continues to develop you could see him leap up the list next year.

Honourable Mentions
11. Kevin Martin - Great player, I really like him, he has shown a lot of potential to be a top 5 SG one day. Right now though, I can't put him above any of those players.
12. Monta Ellis - " ".
13. Rip Hamiton - Great player but that nose helmet thing....awful. Hey if he likes though.
14. Jason Richardson
15. Mike Dunleavy - Underrated, does a good job on the Pacers.
16. Vince Carter - I know everybody hates him on the NBA Boards, but as leader of the Nets he should get some good games in, even if he is a bad teammate etc etc etc.
176. Jamal Crawford - Better than the Knicks let on..

SF Rankings

1. LeBron James - I think this is just the obvious choice.
2. Paul Pierce - The Finals MVP and I think he is also an obvious number two.
3. Ron Artest - Now we got that out of the way, Carmelo may be more talented but Artest produces on both sides of the ball and if you take out that one brawl, he is a great teammate.
4. Carmelo Anthony - He is too talented to put him any further down the list. If he plays his cards right he should go down as a top SF of all-time.
5. Caron Butler - I think Butler and the following three could be rearranged in any order. How Butler led the Wizards in Arenas extended absence puts him above them.
6. Andre Iguodala - He is so young and should be a great player. He has a good chance to do very well this year with experienced Elton Brand coming on board.
7. Josh Howard - Not turning into the greatest off-court person. With the whole anthem and pot thing, but still a great player.
8. Josh Smith - Again 5-8 could be rearranged, I think he needs a bit more experience and maturity before I put him above any of the others, but I guess the same could go for Iguodala. But at this stage, I think Iguodala is better.
9. Hedo Turkoglu - The MIP looks to build on his fantastic season last year. Thank you Magic for showing us what he can do when used well.
10. Shawn Marion - This position is actually very very deep. A true testament to that is if you can have a player like Marion at 10.
11. Lamar Odom - Out on the perimeter he isn't as good as in the post for me. But a unique talent nonetheless.

Honourable Mention
12. Tayshaun Prince - Great defender.....He is very skinny...What else is there to say.
13. Rudy Gay - Very underrated, could see a dropoff in stats with OJ Mayo joining them though.
14. Richard Jefferson
15. Gerald Wallace
16. Luol Deng - Didn't step up like he should've last season.
17. Al Thornton
18. Stephen Jackson
19. Andrei Kirilenko
20. Danny Granger
21. Corey Maggette

These are my PF rankings, in two days I'll release my SF rankings, in another two days I'll do SG and then PG and then C. If I can be bothered I'll do a top 50 players list like CBS is planning to do. That'll be at the end though. Right, here we go.

PF Rankings

1. Kevin Garnett - The current DPOY and he led the Celtics to a championship season.
2. Tim Duncan - In terms of all-time, Duncan could well be the greatest PF ever. But as of 2008-09 he is second only to Garnett.
3. Dirk Nowitzki - He didn't play that well last season but still has his own touches of brillance. An all-round player, you can't help not to be a threat when you are a PF that can shoot from anywhere.
4. Elton Brand - He should have a real impact in Philadelphia, he is a great low-post PF.
5. Chris Bosh - He just makes everything look so easy. His shot really sets him apart.
6. Amare Stoudemire - It's tough to see a player so talented at #6 on any list, but that isn't saying he is bad. He will continue to be the major scorer for Phoenix, especially with Marion gone now. He also has a great mentor in Shaq.
7. Carlos Boozer - This team USA member really gives Utah and Deron Williams an extra punch.
8. David West - Broke out last year and managed to get himself an all-star appearence. He played a major role in the Hornets playoff run last season.
9. Antawn Jamison - Caron and Antawn led the Wizards last season, he plays well in the playoffs - Of course not well enough to get past the Cavs...
10. LaMarcus Aldridge - I believe he will continue to be the main guy in the post for Portland. Oden will either spread out the defense in the post or not play well and Aldridge will continue to see the ball.

Honourable Mentions
11. Rashard Lewis - That's how the Magic roll, last season they played their highest paid player out of position.
12. Pau Gasol - He's good, he's just not that good. He's a Laker though, and knowing how far CBS' NBA writers knowledge goes he will probably be top five, lol.
13. Luis Scola - Great for a rookie, he should continue to develop and the great chemistry that appeared in Houston last year should help him as well.
14. Zach Randolph - Isn't used probably and doesn't get much credit - mainly due to the fact that he is a Knick.
